Hoover Spirit vacuum cleaner tear down and maintenance

Hello,

I have just been all over you tube and found nothing usable on teardown and cleaning of my old Hoover Spirit. It's mostly all uprights and Dyson this and Dyson that.

A good extended how-to is what I'm looking for with no speedups and preferably no beat tracks in the background.

A model number would be a great start.

Thanks for answering

I will look on the unit.... Hoover Spirit 2.2 HP Model 53441

I jumped back in here b/c I found a Kenmore teardown on you tube by a professional. My unit is not broken,
but this, as a generic canister tear down, had me watching the whole 27 mins:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74pKiFWKYdo

And it met my requirement of no beat tracks or music loops playing in the background -- just him at a bench describing what he's doing. He was no fan of Kenmore. ;-)

Also I learned something about the use of HEPA poly dust bags preferable to paper. Unfortunately I just bought 3 more generic replacements from an online source. I was hoping to find out about filter replacements and such. At this point I have to look at the Hoover more closely for what I'm comfortable screwing and unscrewing.

You have an upright yet you watched a canister video.
The guy didn't mention that Sears/Kenmore did not manufacture any appliances.
Everything was built by a name brand company for Sears.

Closer to your unit. More to choose from in right pane.

No, none of this is right. It's and old run on the ground canister vac. Barely holding together. I'll see if I can find you a picture.

here's one:

Mine is not worth a vintage $296.00 I don't even have a power wand. My second of two (the first one
I got used) I got on the curb. The one from the curb was in better shape. But this is the model.

I didn't see a rear filter for this one nor anything on the backside of the clamshell assembly to pry it open.
I can of course change the dust bag but that's as far as I've gone.
