Magic Chef Wine Cooler Fan

Iíve got a magic chef wine cooler that isnít cooling properly. It is running, and cooling some, but the bottom part of the two zone cooler isnít cooling as much as it should. I unplugged the unit and took off the back panel. I cleaned the condensing coil, which was very dusty. I was going to check the starter relay to see if it rattled, but struggled with getting the cover off. So, I decided to plug it back in and see if cleaning the condenser was enough.
The lights came on and it does cool better than before. The upper and lower zones achieved the target range in less than an hour. However , the compressor became very hot to touch pretty quickly, and yet, the fan isnít running. That doesnít seem right. Is the fan not running due to a faulty starter relay? I assume itís not safe to operate the unit long term without the fan running.

If the starter/overload unit is bad.... you will get no cooling (compressor) at all.
If there is a fan under the unit that blows over the condenser coil.... then it needs to be running.
It's designed to cool the condenser coil... not the compressor.
The fan is stand alone and runs on 120vac on a call for cooling.

A model number is required for more detailed help.

There must be different versions of that cooler.
Based on MCA factory site...... MC appliance

They call for a 312180500004 condenser motor.......

OR
they call for a 312180500096 condenser motor.

If what you've found matches the second part... you're probably good.
Make sure the voltages are the same.
I don't see any inside fan listed.

The fan that isnít working looks exactly like the second picture. Is it simply a matter of removing it from the condenser housing and terminal connection, and then replacing it with a new one?
