Replacement microwave mounting problem.

Old GE Mod. JEM31GA001 died. It was mounted from cabinet above and was over stove. I canít find another under cabinet unit that is anyway near as low in height as the 10 ľ ď of the old GE. The higher units get to close to the stove burners. There are many counter top units with the right height but I have to figure out the best way to mount a new one from the cabinet. I donít want to put screws in the wall. The mounting hardware I found on line doesnít look that great. Any suggestions?

Anyone else confused?
"there are counter top units with the right height"
All new units will come with a new mounting bracket, so what's the issue?

800 w (1300watt) black countertop GE Profile Spacemaker II microwave
1.0 cu ft. 10.5"tall x 24"wide x 12"deep

The new replacement for that unit is only slightly taller. No idea on the mounting hardware looks.

A picture of the upper cabinet will help, here's a link:

Your microwave wasn't designed to be above a range. It's for hanging under an upper cabinet or sit on the counter top, like a kitchen TV or radio.
Over the range microwave hoods are about 16" high and the upper cabinet would need modified/shortened.

The rule is the bottom of any combustible shelf or cabinet must be 30" above the cooking surface.

I would recommend a standard vent hood, which is about 6" high.
