New Stove cable-max length?

I am putting a new stove on the second floor. It needs a new cable. I am wondering how long this cable can be. The cable could run directly from the basement, up the left side of the house to the kitchen, which is on the left side of the house. But, running the cable this way is difficult. It would be easier to run the cable up the right side of the house, across the floor and over to the left side of the house. This would add about 30' of extra cable.

I feel like I should make the run be short, but Im not sure why. Should I run the cable the shortest distance? Is there a maximum run on the stove cables?

Thank you for your help.

There is no code maximum. You may want to consider voltage drop depending on the length.

There is no maximum length. From a practical point of view anything less than about 100 feet is fine.
