Drill bit for drilling through outside wall for wiring?
I need to drill a hole through the outside wall for a 12V DC power for a CCTV cam.
The cable is about 4mm. I am trying to avoid a big hole. I figured 11/64 would be a good diameter.
What type of drill bit should I get? I know larger installer drill bits have a long shank.
So, I am not sure if something like this would work? (I figured I need 8" of drilling)

The smallest diameter "long bit" I use is 1/4". Usually works perfect for a small 2 conductor cable or even Cat5 cable.

You are just drilling through wood, drywall, wood/vinyl siding correct? No brick or concrete block? Those materials would require a masonry bit....

Keep in mind..... when you drill blindly thru the wall..... there is "stuff" in there. Stuff could be ducts, wires, pipes, etc.

I always preferred a bell hangers drill bit. The hole in the end allows you to pull a string back through which on hollow walls makes is easy to just pull the wire through with out blind stabbing for the hole in the wall on the other side.
