14-2 or 12-2 Wire

I am looking to add an additional outside spotlight on an existing 15 amp circuit. I will tie into an existing outside light about 20 feet away. I do not want to be concerned about any dimming with the additional draw on this particular circuit. Is 14-2 sufficient or should I use 12-2?

If the circuit is protected by a 15 Amp device then 14/2 is fine.

Hard to say for sure without knowing the total length of the circuit from the panel and what all the existing loads are. Also what size and type of spotlight you are adding and the amp draw. Just shooting from the hip I'd dare say you won't have any voltage drop issues with 14-2 supplying the new spotlight.
