Variable speed control for AC fan
Hello there, new to the forum, joined to find help with this project- any and all advice greatly appreciated!!
The Project- Create a mobile working space in cargo van
The Problem- wiring ventilation fan
I recently purchased a 4" inline duct fan from ebay: Duct Booster Fan Exhaust Blower Air Cooling Vent 4" Inline ABS 110V US Quiet | eBay
I need to find a compatible variable speed control for said fan.
The Complications: While this fan is an ac motor, all controls even if listed as ac tend to notate that they do not work with most ac motor types (induction, shaded pole, etc.) I have contacted the fan seller asking what kind of motor used, and they said ac but nothing more, it seems hard to get the info i am looking for from this manufacturer.
Can anybody point me in the right direction or give me any information about this issue?
Router Fan Variable Speed Controller for AC Electric Motor Rheostat New | eBay
this is an example of one control that says ac but the description seems to befuddle me.

Welcome to the forums.
Those fans hardly blow any air from the start. Does it really need to be slowed down ??
That fan uses an induction or shaded pole motor so no.... that control you linked to won't work.
You can use any FAN speed controller.
