12 V DC power for 24V DC?

I have a 24 Volt DC alarm siren and was wondering if I can power it with a 12 V DC Power Supply.

I want to hookup the 12 V DC power supply via an Insteon I/O linc and have it power and turn on the 24 Volt DC Siren. Just owner if a 12 VDC power supply would even work with a 24 V DC alarm?

Most likely the 12vdc will work fine. It may not be as loud as with 24vdc but it should still be loud enough. You certainly won't hurt it to try it.

PJ is likely right, but a new 24v power supply or bell/siren replacement at 12v will do what the siren is intended to do... scare the bejeebers out of the perp and be loud enough to get the attention of the neighbors.
