wire type - tr64 wrong application?

In a pinch I used 6 " pigtails of TR64 18AWG to extend the wire leads to my car horn. I spliced directly to the 22AWG car wiring with waterproof butsplices and soldered the connections to the horn. I covered it all in that flex black tubing .

Was that a poor idea?

I admit I was too lazy and cheap to go to the auto store and buy a bunch of wire for such a small application.

TR64 has a basic pvc jacket. It's not considered high heat or oil resistant but it should be fine where you used it.
