Battery with tab post

Built a small solar generator to use with ham radios. Batteries are two Mighty Max 18ah 12v connected in parallel.
They have tabs with hole in center instead of posts to connect cables.
I have 2-4 cables to connect directly to batteries.
It is messy. And difficult to deal with.
Is there an adapter to turn tabs into posts or studs?

Welcome to the forums! Your profile is incomplete so we don't know where you are located. It makes a great deal of difference for our advice to be correct, so fill it in so we know a little more about your situation. You don't say what type cable ends you have so we need to know that. Generally you would make a pigtail of all the wires of like polarity and only have one wire with a flat spade end to attach to the battery. You can post pictures of what you have so we can see what you see. http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...your-post.html

you can build custom connectors or cables to meet your needs. It sounds like you may have an F1 or F2 tab connector on the battery and you want to use a "ring" style connector. Not sure what your issue is so pictures would be best.

It is actually beneficial to use your own wiring with crimped eyelets.
That is a far superior connection to battery posts.

Ok, the first pic shows the battery as it currently is. I'm temporarily using bolt and ring terminals. But as you can see it is messy and hard to manage. (first pic)
I have been unable to find anything that will fit over the tab that I could add to the cable ends.
I considered several distribution blocks, but not sure how to use them when I have to run parallel cables between batteries (pos to pos, neg to neg).
The silver/gold distribution block can be screwed into the hole the tab, but it sticks out over the edge with no protective cover so doesn't seem like a good idea.
The other dist block could be screwed into the box floor. Just not sure how to do parallel that way.
Sorry about last pic,, that was before generator was put together.
Will try to make pics smaller next time.

Got the pics.. Had to be on laptop.

Here is outside of generator and inside. All cables are not connected to batteries yet, but you can see parallel cables in place.

Youy need to get the proper bolts instead of the screws you are using. If the holes in cable ends are to big use a couple of flat washers and bolts. 1/4 or 5/16 bolts look about what you will need. most hardware stores will have the cable ends you need if the cables you have don;t have the flat type ends.

Hanging the block over the battery end would not really be a hazard unless there is metal near it. You could look for a plastic box (IE: food storage container) and cut slots to cover them.
