Problems with wiring my family room lights.

Hey everyone. I am looking for some help. I am remodeling my family room and re doing the lights and switch is involved. I found a thread from 2011 which gave me the diagram needed but my breaker won't come on.

Power goes to the first light with 14/2-----to 2nd light with 14/3 and to switch with 14/2.

I have it wired in this way:
1. Black from power to black from 14/3 to single pole switch.
2.White from power to white from light to white in 14/3 to white in 2nd light and ending there.
3. Black from 1st light connected to red in 14/3 then to black in 2nd light and white in 14/2 (with black tape to identify hot) and to the switch.

Thank you for your advice and any diagrams if possible.

By code.... here in the States a neutral is also required to be run to the switch for future use for a device like a wifi switch or timer. It gets capped off if not needed. That means a three wire cable is run from the second light to the switch.
