Electrical adapters

I have a meter that can use 4 AA batteries or 110/120 via adapter.

The adapter (which is no longer available) output is 7.2V 300ma.

The closest I have is 6V 300ma and 8V 300ma.

Will either of these work or will they cause problems, like destroy the meter?

All help appreciated.

Both would probably work fine. Start with the 6v one first.

Assuming these are all DC output adapters............ be sure..... the polarity of the adapter matches the old one.

You may want to check the actual volt output of the adapters. The 6V may output more than 6V and the 8V output more than 8V. I have some listed 12V adapters that output 14V-15V.
