wire with fabric
Pretty old wire in this building but it is copper.
Is it best to trim off as much fabric as possible on these inside the junction box for fire safety?

It's not knob and tube, the wire is sheathed throughout the crawl spaces and walls. But it's likely the first use of fabric as the sheath...It's an outer fabric sheath with the internal copper wires sheathed in individual insulation

Also a safety tip to keep the light fixture that mounts there as cool as possible. Overlamped or enclosed fixtures can really break down those old wires.
