Convert Light Fixture from 110V AC to 12V DC Question
Because of a bad underground AC wire, I want to run 12 volt landscaping wire to two outdoor 110 volt AC post lamps. I will isolate the original 14/2 wire (of course) but re-use the existing 12/2 wire connecting the two post lamps which tested OK.
I think I found 12 volt LED candelabra bulbs that should fit the existing light fixture, but will DC wiring work with the way the existing light fixture is wired internally? Since it's 3 light sockets per fixture, I'm wondering if it'll work since DC works on a loop vs. AC's hot/neutral configuration.
Thanks!

DC will work just fine. The sockets are wired in parallel. It's the same wiring for AC or DC. DC low voltage doesn't require the ground wire that AC high voltage does.
