New 240v circuit question

Hey, ya’ll. Recently acquired a welder. It’s 240v 50a. I had two spaces left in my load Center for a new circuit. Yay! Well, I’ve also got some leftover wire from a previous project that I’m gonna use on for the new circuit. My dilemma is that it’s three conductor plus ground. But my electrical plug is only three wire and NO ground. Since I’m going through the trouble of getting in the attic and such, I’d kinda like to run the three wire plus ground since that’s “modern”. But I’m just concerned about what to do with the ground when it’s there at the plug....

or

I could just run the two hot wires and a neutral and not run the ground wire. But I will be pissed if someday down the road I have to get back into the load center and attic to run a ground wire. Lol

Thanks!

Neutral wire white) would be capped on both ends. Code requires the ground.

You said the welder was 240 volts. You don't need a neutral for 240 volts.
