Phone jack wiring?
I am replacing 2 phone jacks. One of them has 4 wires (black, yellow, red green). The other has those same 4 wires but also has an additional strand of wires coming in. The colors are kind of hard to make out but 2 blue wires are connected to the same terminal as the red and 2 white wires are connected with green. What are these additional wires? Can I just connect them like this to the new jack (3 wires in each terminal)?
Thanks!
Thanks!

With 4 wire cable.... red and green is line one and yellow and black is line two.
Green - T1 - white/blue
Red - R1 - blue/white
Black - T2 - white/orange
Yellow - R2 - orange/white
Older cable is 4 wires... red, green, yellow and black.
New cable is 4 pairs.... blues, oranges, greens and browns.
Someone doubled up the blue wires and a second pair. Not necessary.
The blue pair should be used for line 1.
You can maintain the same connections and not worry about any changes.

Connecting the white/blue and blue/white works.
Do I just leave the red and green unconnected?

That may be a jack between others. If the other jacks work.... don't connect it.
If one of the others doesn't work.... it'll need to be reconnected.
