Help Taking Elect Motor Apart
I have a 1hp electric motor for my pond fountain pump and its not working. I want to take it apart an oil some bearings to get more life. Anyway, i cant figure out how to take the housing off this motor. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forums.
You would need two hands to pick up a 1hp motor. That looks more like a 1/5hp and possibly a little smaller. Definitely a small fractional motor. I don't recognize it but by the looks of the rusted motor body it will not be easy to open and will probably not be serviceable. I see two rivets there but I'd doubt that holds the motor cover together. It may be a press fit.
Is that just the motor.... with the pump removed ?

Even if you get motor apart you will break seals and looking at rust on body you will never get it to seal and water will get in. That is probably what is wrong with it now.

Need Help Still.
That is just the motor removed from the pump. I really want to take the motor apart this weekend. Just to root cause it. If its a compression cover holding it together, what’s the best way to remove the cover.
Any help would be appreciated.

Possibly a strap wrench.
Put it in a vice and tap the light colored end with a hammer.
I would doubt you could open the motor and service it so remove the cover the easiest way.
