dimmer confusion - what aftermarket to use

We are installing a pacific energy fp30 fireplace. The rotary dimmer that comes with the unit is not our style.
What aftermarket dimmers are compatible with the fireplace blower motor? Will the new LED/incandescant dimmers work? Will a 3 speed ceiling fan dimmer work?Cross posted here: **********

You need fan speed controller not a dimmer. Looks same outside, but different.
Controllers made for ceiling fan should work.

Thanks for the response. The fan dimmer was confirmed on another board as well. I appreciate the insight. I will have two dimmers on the wall, one for the fireplace blower and one for the ceiling lights and as you mentioned the switches will look the same but be different inside!

Just keep in mind...... if you set the fan speed too low and the fan thermostat turns the fans on..... the fans may not start on their own.
