Power strip for convection countertop digital toaster oven

I have a 1800W Convection Countertop Digital Toaster Oven. It is not convenient for us to plug it into a wall outlet directly. But when we use a power strip. The power strip often stops some time in the middle. Is it the bad of the power strip? Can I get a power strip without surge protection?

Best is to install a new receptacle near the oven otherwise use an appliance extension cord (#14 or #12) not a power strip.
