Multiple Romex lines through one joist hole?
I understand the size and spacing rules about drilling holes in joists for romex (NM-B). Someone once told me it's better to keep lines a few inches from each other because in some cases it can cause electrical interference. I think this is bunk. Perhaps they were thinking about audio lines.
Is it normal and okay to run more than one Romex line through a single joist hole?

Electrical interference is for phone and data lines. Do not run data lines right next to or same hole with electrical cables.
You can run electrical cables in the same hole all you want as long as it is not too tight.

Maybe they were thinking about the bundling rules that kick in when run together further than 24"

It's not a code violation, but still best to check with the AHJ in your area. I have seen some areas that won't allow more than one cable in a single hole.
