Wiring for two light switches and two light fixtures

Good morning, all.

I want to get opinions for how to best wire the following... I want to to be able to toggle on/off both ceiling light fixtures regardless of which switch is flipped. I don't want only one light to be on or one light to be off. Both on, or both off. Below is a rough diagram of how it looks.

<light switch in kitchen> -------- <light fixture> --------- <light fixture> -------- <light switch in hallway>

The way you have it drawn you need four wire cable between the fixtures.
Best to go power- sw1 - sw2 - L2 - L2.

3 sets of wires in kitchen countertop receptacle - how to wire for GFCI?

I have an older 3-prong receptacle next to my sink and I wanted to replace it with a GFCI. When I took it out of the wall, there are 3 sets of wires. One black and one neutral was attached to top outlet screw terminals. Two black and two neutral wires were attached to bottom outlet screw terminals. The grounds are twisted together and attached to a screw in the box. Initially I put the 1 black / 1 white in the line terminals of the gfci and the others in the load terminals, assuming that was the original setup on the old receptacle. The green light on the gfci came on but it won’t reset and gfci tester in bottom outlet registered nothing. More importantly refrigerator is still off so I’m sure this didn’t work. its a 20a circuit and I think this is the 2nd device because the receptacle on the other side of my sink (in the same circuit) works but none of the other devices do. How do I troubleshoot this? I’d like to have the gfci there and have fridge, dishwasher and other outlets working. if I can’t get gfci to work and go back to 3 prong outlet, I can’t have two wires under 1 terminal, right? Low voltage reading on hi voltage romex

On my outdoor patio, I have 4 lights on a rock/masonry wall with an outlet about 4 feet below each light. I cannot find the switch that turns on the lights. (That’s a different problem for another day.). Each power outlet was GFCI which I think is unnecessary. Anyway, every GFCI was corroded and non functional, as if the patio may have flooded at one time. I don’t know. It was obvious moisture/water had gotten into the outlets and I could see evidence of arcing. I removed all outlets for now. The romex is a 3 wire. The black feeding the outlets at all times. The red wire feeding the lights which I figure has a switch somewhere. The outlets and lights share the neutral. The voltage between black and white wires is 119 volts. The voltage between red and white is 15. Yes, 15 not 115. Why would this be? Is it induced voltage? Stray voltage through earth? Please educate me. Read More
