Need advice wiring/installing electric motor!
Hi, I'm new to the forum and know very little about all things electrical.
I recently bought a 1,4kW 230V electric motor that I now need to connect to a voltage regulator to control the motor speed, and also connect it to my 230V wall socket (live in Europe by the way).
Can anyone tell me how, and what cables/adapters I will need to do this?

Hi, thanks for the response.
According to the product information of the variable device that I bought, it supports up to 1200V and 25A and has a max performance of 2000W...
Sure it won't work? Not even temporarily?

The motor appears to be an A/C motor. If the controller is for D/C motors it will not work regardless of voltage.
Are there any terminals on the motor to connect the wires? Does the motor have a wiring diagram?

That motor is single phase and is not very suitable for speed control. The variable frequency drive supply given by Pjmax is very good but you need a three phase motor for it to work well. The 16 uF run capacitor shown gets less effective (higher impedance) when the VFD is set to provide lower frequencies for slow speeds.
