Electric hookup for dryer

So i have a spare 125/240 3 prong dryer i don't need (I have a gas one)- I want to sell it but need to confirm it works. I have to sell the house----- Without getting crazy- I just want to plug it in to correct outlet- My electrical box is in garage- Would easiest way to be buy a breaker and plug (outlet)- and just wire it right in garage to test? i will take it out after that- Just looking for suggestions

That seems like a reasonable approach. If you already have an existing 30A double pole breaker (for an air conditioner or water heater for example) you could use that one instead of buying one just for the test.

Replacing fan and wall control with lighting fixture and smart dimmer

Hi, As the title suggests, I'm attempting to replace a fan with a lighting fixture and also replace the fan's wall control with a Lutron smart dimmer. The lighting/fan for the room is split into 2 switched; 1 switch controls both the fan and the fans light while I'm not sure the other switch does anything. Before replacing the new light I unscrewed the wall control switch from the wall and was a bit confused by the wiring. I'm hoping someone can advise how to install the new dimmer. Hello, I’m in the process of installing wireless switches in our 3 bedrooms. The existing 3 way wall switches control receptacles. I’ll be completing removing the wired 3 way switches. How to I make sure the receptacles are constantly powered after the switch removal? Let me know if you need photos and if each room might be treated differently. I’d read that a first step is finding where the power is coming from...switch 1, switch 2, the receptacle? Other than checking with a tester, are there visual clues as to where power is entering?
