Extending Island receptacle wiring

We are doubling the size of our kitchen island and due to the design we cannot locate (plus we need to add an additional one) the receptacle in the same location. The current wire in place will not be long enough to extend to new location. What are my options to extend the wire?

Place the existing box in the cabinet and run the new one from there.

Thanks. Will the existing box not need easy access?

So long as it is not permanently blocked from access in the cabinet it should be okay.
