2 ways to wire - which is right ?
Installed a new circuit breaker 20Amp.... will now run power to a receptacle in the garage so I know this has to be GFCI.... in the same box I also want to install a switch which will control external lights only....so the outlet is always hot.
I am thinking that I could do this in two ways:
1. Power to the GFCI and then from GFCI pigtails to switch and light - this way the light and anything else I may add later would be protected
2. Power to the box and split right there with pigtails BEFORE connecting to the GFCI receptacle - 1 set of wires to the GFCI, another to the switch and light....so nothing after the receptacle would be GFCI protected.
Any feedback ? Recommendation ?
Thank you !

thanks - I was thinking the same - possibility for the GFCI to trip or when testing / resetting - the lights outside would go off.....but thought maybe this would be the required way
