Cost to have electrical panel upgraded

Hi looking for the cost to have are electrical panel upgraded, are panel is a 200amp and need more open spots also looking to ad a generator hook up to it and whole home surge protection. What would the estimate in Canada dollars to have it done?

Your best bet is to call local contractors that have been recommended. We can't see your job from here and local costs vary too much.

Probably close to $2000. A lot depends on how much needs to be changed and how difficult the job is.

If AFCI breakers are needed, that is a big $ hit for parts.

As already mentioned it is difficult for us to give you an estimate as we are not there to see what needs to be done. We could be too far off which could throw you.

Best is to bring in at least three electrical contractors and let them give you a written estimate of what needs to be done. This will give you a far better idea of what the cost will be. Don't always go with the cheapest one though; cheap is not always best. But overall you looking at these estimates will give you a must closer target price than we can.
