Lost batteries in attic- hazard?

Maybe a silly question....

I lost a led flashlight in my attic somewhere in the blown in insulation. It has been up there for about 2 months. Its likely not lit but I am wondering, is that a fire hazard?

Welcome to the forums.

It probably fell to the bottom of the blown-in insulation so it should be shielded from the intense attic heat. I don't foresee any problem with it being lost up there.

thanks for the response. Are you suggesting that heat is an issue? Will they explode when exposed to extreme attic temperature swings?

Probably powered by standard alkaline batteries, they will eventually die, then leak inside the flashlight housing and never hurt anything!

The only batteries I'd be concerned with are lithium batteries.
If that flashlight had user installed batteries you'll not have any problems.
