Travel trailer AC plug wiring

I need some advice regarding my camper wiring. I just bought a camper a few days ago and itís missing the plug that goes to the 30 amp outlet. I went to Home Depot and bought an rv plug thinking this would be super easy as itís only 3 wires. The problem Iím having is that instead of a black, white and green/bare wire I have black, red and white wires. From what I understand black and red are usually hot wires and white is neutral. I really donít want to wire this up wrong and short everything out. Any advice is much appreciated. Thank you.

Trailer is marked as 120v / 30 amp

You purchased a 120/240v receptacle (it's marked 125/250v). It allows both 120v and 240v. Probably a 14-30P.

Instead, you probably want a 5-30P. This will give you a 120v 30A plug.

But it also depends what you're plugging it into. What kind of receptacle is it plugging into? a 4-wire/prong receptacle?

Hi, I assume the other end of this cord goes into a service panel somewhere in the trailer, pull the cover off of it an post some pics of how it is connected.

Someone used an incorrect cord on that RV. I see it all the time. It can be confusing and dangerous.
As Geo mentioned..... we need to see how it's connected in the AC breaker panel or the transfer switch location if you have an onboard generator.

Look closely...... see if the green was cut off.
