Need a new compound miter saw like my old PC 3802

I have been renovating a vacant house for a few months...and it got broken into.

Stole all my power tools, cordless, corded, air tools, compressor.

I am in the process of replacing them. However I really like the old Porter Cable 3802 12" compound miter saw, are the new PC saws of similar quality? Or have PC gone down in quality since all the mergers and acquisitions?

I have a 12" Delta saw tool and it just collects dust in the corner (they took that too) after I started using the PC saw.

Any other 12" saw I should check out?

My only recommendation would be to buy whatever is on sale. As far as the burglary goes, see if any of your tools are in a local pawn shop.

I have a Bosch 12" similar to your PC, but also have a Ridgid belt drive with an offset motor. Love it mainly because it will cut 5 1/2" speedbase standing up. Just something to consider.

I have an old 12" Dewalt I picked up from a pawn shop for less than $100. I used it everyday for several years before I retired and it never failed me.

A lot of guys like Dewalt, my personal opinion is that Dewalt tools have this plastic feeling, but they last. I prefer Makita as they feel more solid, however this may help you: Dewalt dws709 vs dws780
