chain saw

I have an Husqvarna 450 Rancher chainsaw with an 18" bar and I am looking to replace the blade. On the bar is stamped H32-72, which I believe tells me which chain to buy. However, all is see advertised is H30-72 chains. What is the difference and can the H30-72 be used? This saw is only about 2 years old. Also, what is the difference (if there is one) between the 450 Rancher and the 450?

Thank you,
Rich

I don't see it on their website anymore even on several review sites. They talk about the 455 Rancher, but no 450, but I did find it for sale a few places. Looks like the Rancher has a 20" bar (which is odd since you said yours was 18", and that's listed for the regular 450 according to 2016 info) and a side mounted chain tensioner that the 450 doesn't have.

As to the chain, who knows, maybe discontinued? Might have to check with dealer.

Wait for one of the Pro's to weigh in tomorrow.

I have a Hasqvarna rancher [I think it's the 455] with a 18" bar. Whenever I've bought a replacement chain for any saw I just look up that particular saw along with bar size and the chart will tell you which chain fits.

Thanks for the reply and for the link to Oregon's chainsaw blades. That site doesn't list a 450 Rancher but I know I have one because I'm looking at it. That is a bit weird especially since I didn't buy it too long ago. Perhaps I will try to contact Husqvarna and see what is up with that. Thanks again.

Are you sure it's a rancher model? they list 3 different 450 models although none of them are ranchers. The serial number should clarify just what saw you have.

On the side of the saw it says, "Husqvarna" and below that it says, "450 Rancher". The serial number is FHVXS.0505AA On the bar is stamped 32-72 18" .325 050
They are the numbers I am going by and if they're wrong then it's wrong from Husqvarna. I bought the saw new about 2 or 3 years ago at a John Deere dealership. As you see the bar is stamped
32-72 but all I ever see is 30-72.

It looks like the 30-72 is the chain and the 32-72 may be the bar.

As long as these three numbers match..... you can use any companies replacement chain.
Drive links is 72
The pitch is .325
The gauge is .050
