Protection One Alarm System Key Fob Replacement

I have a Protection Alarm System in my home. I use the alarm without the Protection One monthly service. Recently I misplaced my Key Fob. I called Protection One and ask for a new one and they said I would have to sign up for their services or they can't help me. Is there a way around this? How can I get another key fob without getting into a service contract? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Protection One is an installer that pays to have their logo put on slightly modified versions of systems, usually made by Honeywell/Ademco.

What is your system model? (look on the wiring diagram on the system enclosure where the battery resides)

Typically P1 locks down their systems, but some models are easier to get around this than others. Still, you would also need the right keypad model to access the programming menus to delete the failed keyfob and program in the new one.
