Silencing the exit beeps on my ADT Safewatch Quckconnect Plus keypad

The post i found on this topic would not allow me to reply as it was an old post (here for reference: http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...us-keypad.html)

Basically, i also have the LynxSIA Plus model that does not have the *37 program mode to turn off beeping for exit mode. However, i want my motion senesors on at night so i was wondering how to add my motion sensors into the "stay" mode so that when i activiate the alarm at night i dont have to hear the beeping.

FYI--i entered the motion sensor today using the *888 voice install mode.

Thanks.

I guess the real question I have is which zone type would I need to change my motion sensor to so that it is not bypassed when in "stay" mode? I am guessing Zone type 03 (perimeter)? Dont want to make changes until i am sure of what I am doing.

That way i would just use the stay mode at night and use my fob key to disarm before I go down stairs in the morning.

SIA model panels have certain default features hard coded, mostly in the interest of false alarm prevention. Not being able to disable exit beeps for AWAY arming is one of them.

The default zone type for motion detectors (Zone type 4, Interior Follower) is actually the correct one. When you arm in STAY mode, there is no exit beep,

Because this is a very simple, basic system; there is no available zone type to allow you to have the motion active in STAY, other than programming it as a perimeter zone.

Thanks MrRonFL,

So just to be sure, to change it this is what i do:

Installer code + 800
*56
07 (for zone number)
03 (to change to perimeter)
*99 to exit.

Appreciate your time and help!

Programming manual: https://helpdesk.nex-tech.com/files/...rogramming.pdf

Close, but not quite:

Your first three steps are correct, but after your selection of the zone type, you keep pressing * for the following prompts until you get back to the zone selection prompt. Then, you enter 00 to exit *56 programming. Then, you enter *99 to exit programming.

Remember, the * key is essentially the "enter" key.

Thanks for your help--got it all set.

One more question--now that I changed the zone type to 03 Perimeter, the motion detector zone is picked up by the panel when I turn the chime on. Is there a way to turn the chime off for this particular zone?

When I am home and wish to arm the system, I know I can bypass the zone with the motion, does this also bypass the zone on chime?

You can use the chime by zone feature (*26) to set the system to only chime for zones included on Zone List 3.

Thanks. I am not sure what your mean by zone list 3. I have read then manuel but am unclear how this feature works. So the zone i want to remove the chime is zone 07. So after going into programing i would go:

*26
07
0 (for no?)
*99 to exit.

You create the zone list in *81 menu programming (page 16 of the manual posted above), you put _only_ the zones you want to chime in zone list 3; then you activate the chime by zone feature in *26 by entering 1.

Ahh ok I thing i understand.

So these are my steps to creat the zone list?

*81
03
02*03*07* (to enter my zones)
00 (to accept zone list)
*99 to exit (i can just exit and not go through test of promps, correct?)

Then I turn zone by chime on:
*26
1
*99

Again, close, but with these systems, you can't skip steps. You have to work your way though the menu until you get back to the original zone list prompt, then you enter 0 to exit the menu mode. Then, you can exit programming.

These systems are probably closer to old DOS programming, than not.

This worked perfectly, thanks again.

Unrelated, i just programed the 5834-4 key fob and set up each button and they are working fine. Is there any way to program one of the bottons as "stay no delay (instant)"?

I see that on some panaels you can program up to 8 fob comands (hoding down 2 buttons at once) --is my system capable of this?

No, that multifunction trick is a different brand's trick. The Honeywell based panels don't work that way.

For the instant arm, try pressing the armed stay or arm delay button on your keyfob twice. For some versions of the Lynx, that will kick on the instant mode. If it doesn't, then your model doesn't have that feature.
