Convert ADT to DIY wifi local alarm.

Hello All,

I purchased a house with an ADT system. It couldn't phone home, so it started beeping and i disconnected everything.

It seems to be a Broadview BHS-4000B system. Pictures of my system: https://imgur.com/a/HcoN1

What are my options to make it a local alarm which alerts to my Android smartphone? I'm electronically astute but i don't want to spend 2-3 weekends trying to get this going.

What are my options? If it matters we already are heavily invested in the Nest systems for cameras.

Please advise and TIA!

Yours is a Brinks system, not ADT. Brinks was well known for "locking" their panels to prevent any reprogramming. I suspect that you will need a new motherboard.

The Brinks/Broadcom BHS panels are highly proprietary (ADT later absorbed them, thus the ADT signage). They basically have no DIY conversion path other than starting over with a new system on the existing wiring and contacts.

New motherboard is fine, but what do all suggest for a local alarm with wifi alerting capability?

See the following thread: https://www.doityourself.com/forum/e...ch-3000-a.html

The solutions referred to in that thread work with the Honeywell Vista panels and the DSC power series panels; both of which are reasonably DIY friendly.
