Alarm...but no alarm
Hi Folks, Got a weird problem with my new (new panel, original contacts) Interlogix NX-8E. Twice now, in November, and this week, the alarm went off in the middle of the night. The system was armed. Keypad showed one zone was alarming. But no alert emails were received either time. If we had not been home, we would not have received an alert, and the alarm would have kept going for hours! Also, when I looked at the history in my UltraSync app, it showed two zones had alarmed. These zones are adjacent and share a com.
We didn't really look into the problem the first time around. The doors involved were not and had not been opened. We just left it off the rest of the night and re-booted the system the next morning. The keypad never said that either zone was "faulting".
Ok. Why is an alarm sounding, if the zones are intact? How do we troubleshoot this problem? We can't determine a problem just by examining the contact or wiring that we can see. We did make sure the panel connections are secure, and we even "wiggled" the wiring in the panel with the alarm on to see if that set anything off.
Thoughts?

Sometimes a very small misalignment with the contact and the matching magnet can cause this. The nightime change in temperature can make enough movement to trip the zone.
Try putting the system in chime mode, and see if either opening has enough play to cause a chime.

How quickly did you disarm the system? How much of a delay on the dialer is programmed in? If you disarmed before the delay ran out, no alert would have been sent.
The other thing to check is to make sure that those zones would normally send an alert. Try putting it into alarm and time how much lag between the alarm and the alert there is.
