Home protection

I live in a home built in 1880 so it's practically all plaster walls. I have three egress doors plus a sliding patio door. I would like to put in some sort of alarm system that goes to my bedroom to warn me if someone breaks in. My home has three sections to it with the front of it (the 1880 part) along with two additions. My bedroom is on the second floor of the middle addition. The third section is only ground level. What I would like to do is put some sort of electronic device(s) that if someone opens any of the doors when I am asleep I would get an audible alarm to wake me up. It would be much easier for me to deal with a break in if I was awake and before the intruder gets upstairs. I am looking for suggestions of what is available. Thank you.

Sounds like you just need to look into wireless security systems.

By your description of your needs, something like one of the Honeywell Lynx models will probable be sufficient.
