What’s the difference between a 4PM or 2K camera?

I’m looking into purchasing a home surveillance system and have a question regarding the cameras. The systems I’m looking at are all 4K IP NVR with either 4PM or 2K cameras. What’s the difference between a 4PM or 2K camera?

Thanks

I want to know as well. I've never heard of a 4pm camera unless that's the time of day it quits working.

It's not PM...... it's MP for mega pixels. 3MP - 4MP - 5MP cameras.
A 2k camera is usually 4MP.

Sorry for the confusion I meant 4MP.
It's rather confusing when trying to compare systems when they use different terminology. So I guess a 4MP or 2K camera are the same.

Thanks

The 2k, 4k, 2MP, 4MP, etc.

Three key things to watch for is the type of camera connection (only suggest WIRED IP cameras unless its upgrading an existing installation), the resolution of the camera (1024x768, etc). I've seen cameras claiming to be 4k res, but are not more than 1080p at absolute best.
Probably the most important thing (other than being outdoor rated) is the camera lens. I always sold and installed 2.8MM cameras (95-105 degree viewing angle) unless working with a hallway or an area where I need to zoom in on a location a distance away (a gate across a parking lot, etc).
