On-off-on rocker switch
How do I determine the amps needed for a rocker switch for my swamp cooler?

Welcome to the forums.
You would add up the amperage of all the parts. That would be the fan and pump.
Typically a heavy duty rocker switch is 10-16A.
Are you trying to match a particular one ?
You could post a picture of it.... How-to-insert-pictures

If I'm going to guess you need a switch that has six terminals on it. It will be a three position.... center off type. That would be called a double-pole double-throw center-off rocker. I use those in restaurant equipment. Carling makes a good replacement.

So you need a single-pole double-throw center-off rocker.
A six terminal switch will work in place of a three terminal switch. Usually if the switch controls fan and pump..... it needs to be six terminals. If it's just for a two speed fan.... three terminal is good.
