Integrated j channel window wrap
Hi all. So I have a contract with a big box store for vinyl siding. In my contract I have integrated j channel coil wrapped windows and doors.
My installer is on site and is saying this can't be done because I have window sills and not a picture frame type window and he has to use regular j around the window. Is this true?

#1, Huge mistake to have any box store doing the siding, your going to be paying about double what a real siding company could do it for, been there done that.
#2, No clue what you mean by "intergrated J channel coil wrapped windows" are.
Should be two totaly different things.
We have no pictures of what your talking about so how would anyone know?

Integrated j channel coil wrapped windows is when the face trim of the window is fabricated in such a way that it includes a j channel bent into the outside perineter of the trim coil. One piece casing + j-channel. It sometimes makes for a cleaner look when done neatly. I can't say that I have ever seen it done when windows have a sill nose. The nose of the sill can sometimes be cut off flush with the rest of the trim, then it can be done as a picture frame.
If you have reservations about your installers capabilities, best to call the box store right away and demand their "a-team", not the b-squad. A lot of those box store crews are notoriously sloppy. (And yes, expensive).
