Painting vinyl siding

I have a light grey siding and would like to paint it a light green. Is it possible or even a good idea? A

Welcome to the forums.

IMO, not a good idea because you're creating a maintenance project where one did not exist previously.

Otherwise, if you're not really going darker, as it sounds like you're not, this should work.

Generally you can change colors just not go to a darker color as the vinyl is heat rated. You do need to make sure the vinyl is clean and it doesn't hurt to add Flood's EmulsaBond to the first coat of paint. Use a quality latex house paint. I prefer to spray the paint on but many have done it with a brush or even a small roller.
