Aluminum siding suppliers in VA?

I need to source about 500 sq ft of aluminum siding (D4" wood grain texture) for my addition in northern VA. Other than ABC supply, are there other siding supply companies in my area? I can't seem to find any. Problem is out of the two brands ABC carries, they can apparently only get one, and it is pricey. About twice the cost of vinyl. I really don't want to do vinyl. The existing home is aluminum.

Lately all I've seen is vinyl or steel. I assume the cost of aluminum has made it more economical to use different materials

Turns out ABC can get the siding I need, and it's cheaper than I thought--apparently about the same price as vinyl ($142/sq).

Thanks. I'll check those out.

Should I opt for the 0.024" over the 0.019" thick siding? Cost difference is $30 per square.

If the addition isn't that big I'd go for the thicker. It will give you increased dent resistance for a few hundred dollars. It will still dent if hit by a golf ball but maybe will survive a hail storm without damage.

I only need 5 squares, so the cost difference is only $150. If my existing siding is 0.019" and the new siding is 0.024", will it be noticeable? I'm thinking sharpness of creases/angles and depth of wood grain. I want it to match as closely as possible. Unfortunately, all I have to go off is a picture in thei lr website. Hopefully my local supplier has some in stock, or at least a sample. Looks like I'm going to have to go with a completely different color since there is a 10 sq minimum for their "special" colors. That's fine because I'm not too fond of the existing color. I'll either have to paint the existing siding to match or perhaps replace it with the same type later down the road. Not sure the HOA will like the mixed colors, but I think it will look olay for the time being. Existing siding is a butter/cream color and I was thinking of going with a heather gray, which has a complimentary warm tone to it.

It's no big deal to paint aluminum siding. The main thing is to get it clean and free of chalk first, when it isn't feasible to remove all the chalk adding Flood's EmulsaBond to the first coat of latex will promote good adhesion.

Some HOA's are pretty strict on color changes so that might be something to check on.

What is the best method to cleaning the chalk? Power wash, or some combination of wash and solvent?

My neighborhood is full of different color schemes, so I'm not worried about HOA approval.

I generally wet the siding and spray on a TSP solution [add bleach if mildew is present], let it set [but not dry] and rinse with a pressure washer. Scrubbing does a better job but that's really only an option for some diyers ..... nobody would want to pay the additional labor.

I received a sample in the mail today and it turns out the siding I found is nowhere near the same. The sketch on their website looked similar, but the actual product is considerably different. Alside has a double clapboard siding that looks almost identical (there's an actual picture ), so I'm headed up there in the morning to view a sample. Unfortunately they don't sell direct to the consumer and won't even give me a ballpark estimate per square. What should I expect to pay per square of steel siding? $150? $200? $300?

I visited their showroom this morning and they gave me pricing. One guy said $200 to $250 per square for the steel siding, then another guy said steel is more expensive, then recommended an aluminum product that is a near identical match (texture, not color), but then told me it is $300 a square. WTF? It's obvious they're making up whatever pricing suits their bottom line because there's no way to challenge them. I haven't been able to find this close of a match so it doesn't look like I have any other options. Good thing I only need 400 sq ft.
