Water damage from rotten trim
A few weeks ago, a piece of wooden trim that was spanning the gap between the brick front and the start of the vinyl siding fell away from the house. Underneath, we can see that some of the wooden frame has received some water damage. Who should I contact to determine how significant is the water damage to the frame so I can get an estimate for the cost of repair. I guess I would need someone who can determine if this part of the frame needs to be replaced.
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Contact any carpenter or handyman that you can. The problem will be finding someone that wants to do it. Sad to say, when a lot of them see what it is, they won't be excited to give you a bid or do it. Too small of a job with a lot of unknowns until it's all torn off.
But realistically, if there is no WRB behind the siding, all the siding should come off and it should be 100% redone. (So depending on how far you want to go to fix this, it could be a nice big job for someone that's willing to fix it right). So maybe call a siding company that would be willing to make any of the carpentry repairs that are currently unknown/hidden behind the siding.
