Bay window bottom is detaching

Hi all - See attached pics. No idea how this happened but I cannot get this bottom piece to attach back. I tried liquid nails and that held for 1 day and then didn't work. Maybe it was too cold to set? I did it when it was like 35-40 degrees.

Does anyone have a product that would work? Thanks!!!

OSI Quad Max (white). Clean off old caulking first. Use a long strip of painters tape (vertically) to hold it in place until the caulking cures.

Best way to match up new siding to old

I'm having the siding installed on my garage next week. The siding was delivered yesterday (dual 4") and upon comparing new to existing, I found the top plank of the new siding is about 1/4" taller than the existing siding. As such, it isn't going to be possible to exactly match up the old with the new. I'm looking for feedback as to the best way to hide this mismatch. My initial thought is to re-side the area where the octagon is (I'll be removing the octagon anyhow as many of you know) and the short wall that adjoins it, since these areas will be butted up against one another. I'm hoping the corner of the house with the trim will be enough of a break that it won't be noticeable that the new siding isn't exactly lined up with the left front of the house. Another option is to replace the siding on the left front of the home so that all the siding on the front of the house is the same. Except the concern with doing this is with about 20' of wall height, the offset between new and old will be over 3" overall from top to bottom when comparing the left side of the home to the front left face of the home. Which option do you guys think would be less noticeable and less awkard looking? Re-side top middle and adjoining wall to the left, or re-side the entire front of the home and have a mismatch of over 3" between the front of the home and the left side of the home? Another concern is whether or not it will be noticeable that the siding on the garage is 1/4" taller than the existing siding. My guess is it will not because the plank-to-plank measurement is only off by 1/4". It is the cumulative offset from new to existing that will be noticeable (the taller the wall the more noticeable), which is what I am trying to conceal.Read More
