Boarding up windows for hurricane that are vinyl siding

How would I board up vinyl siding windows and not leave a potential leak with screws?

Don't screw into the window. Screw 2x4s over the window (long lag screws through the siding or trim) then mount the plywood to the 2x4s.

After removal what would keep the screw holes from leaking?

You know we can't see your house and can't say for sure exactly where you should screw. We don't know if your windows have trim, or what that trim is. If you put screws into the vinyl siding, you can caulk the holes. In all likelihood though, you won't have much vinyl siding on your house if you are hit by a hurricane so that question is really the least of your worries. But you certainly do not screw to the vinyl window itself.
