Need thin (1/16") flat, rot-proof, shim/spacer material.
Hello,
I'm trimming out my exterior windows with PVC and need to build out the trim about 1/16" to bring it flush with the face of the frame.
I haven't been able to find thin PVC or composite material to use for this purpose. I don't particularly like this idea, but am considering using asphalt shingle material as shim/spacer material. Is that a bad idea? Do you have a suggestion for an inexpensive material to use?
Thanks in advance.

Tar paper/underlayment/roofing felt was my first thought, shingles would be much thicker!
It doesn't actually have paper in it, a fiberglass mat so it will last a long time and comes in different weights/thickness!.

Thanks.
Thank you @ray2047, @Marq1, @XSleeper, and @2john02458.
All great suggestions, and, potentially, differing thicknesses.
Much appreciated.
