Vinyl soffit matterial on gable

I am building my shed and working on soffit material,

I went with rough cut fascia boards and subsequently am using (2) "F" channels to capture the soffit material.

No issues on the horizontal portion , soffit material is locked in place but on my gables the material is sliding down the channels.

The way I constructed my ladder overhangs I dont have anything to nail too!

On the section I completed yesterday after the pieces were locked together I drove a screw in the middle of the top edge to secure and the other pieces are just hanging down from it.

I cant find any reference to this yet I've had several houses with rough cut fascia boards and vinyl soffits.

Is this how it's done?

Yes, you are supposed to fasten vinyl soffit through the nailing flange with at least 2 fasteners, and you work in the direction of the nail flange. When vinyl soffit isn't fastened it tends to flex and blow away during a storm.

After taking all the soffit material out I ran a furring strip down the middle and was able to attach each piece of soffit.

Amazing what a night of not sleeping can do to resolve a problem!
