remove stain from vinyl siding
I stained my deck with thompson water seal, which has water cleanup. I got some spots on the vinyl beige siding. I was wondering if anyone knows what you could use to get the stain off once it dries? thanks in advance

Thompsons is one of the worst sealants so as noted it's going to wear away.
That being said, it's not really a stain, it's just a top coat. Get into the garage and see what chemicals you have, try an inconspicuous spot on the vinyl to make sure it wont melt it then give it a rub.

you would think it would wear off being thompsons but on vinyl siding it wears like iron. tried steel wool, dish soap, scrub brush, mineral spirits and lacquer thinner. I am going to try a scotch brite with soap and water next, so as not to be too aggressive. the best part of this whole thing is that I wanted to replace the piece of siding with the stains, went to the store and the do not carry double 5 in stock, so if you want to buy one piece you have to buy 10 and the texture and colors weren't the same anyway. thanks for the ideas and let me know if you think of anything else.
