Post Painting line stripes on an antique rocker

I'm repairing , recaning and repainting a traditional style black antique rocker and would like to be able to repaint the thin gold lines which appear on the spindles and legs but since they're quite thin I don't know how that might be done. I'm definitely not a good enough painter to paint them freehand. Maybe the areas could be masked and then painted but I'm hoping there's another more effective technique.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Unless you were to apply a pin stripe decal I don't know how you would do it other than freehand or masking.

It's a DIY site but maybe that part of the job gets hired out to a local artist or something.

Thanks for your response.
I checked out detail decals but they're all very bright; mostly for vehicles. I need something subdued. I think I'll try masking.

Thanks for your response. If I can't come up with a technique which I can do myself I may have consider an artist.
