Paint over Screws?

Hello. My contractor used drywall screws instead of exterior screws to hold up my pick fence. I am in process of replacing them one by one with exterior screws. My questions is:

After installing exterior screws, should I paint over the new screws? I'm not sure what best practice should be.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, what's your other option... paint around them? No thanks. You don't usually want the screws to be obvious, so if the rest of the fence is already painted, or even if it isn't go ahead and paint them.

I'm using tan colored ceramic coded exterior screws. The fence is currently painted grey... I just wasn't sure what the process was, if the screws need to be painted. Wouldn't that make it difficult if I ever need to remove the screws in the future? That was my only concern.

Thanks.

The screws don't have to be painted but often it looks better if they are. No big deal if the head gets filled with paint - just take a bit and knock it in with a hammer, that will set the bit in and there shouldn't be any issues removing the screw.
