Stucco Privacy Fence

Has anyone here build a stucco privacy fence using plywood instead of concrete blocks? My next door neighbor just had a contractor build one and didn't look that difficult to do vs price price tag. I have watch several videos in YouTube and feel pretty confident on trying it out first on a small section of the yard, but my biggest question is at the bottom of the wall...does that part remains open so that air can dry moisture inside the wall, or that area also sealed with stucco? Just so I do not confuse anyone, there was no concrete footing, just massive 8x8 wood posts were place with concrete in ground and wall was constructed with plywood, mesh, etc around the posts.
For the look of the project everything was build according to code....I'm just not sure about that bottom part of the fence...thanks in advance

Use cement backer board for the areas close to ground contact and you shouldn't have any issues. May have to install some cross horizontal inserts to to give the cement board some rigidity and also something to screw the mesh into.

IMO it isn't a great idea as wood fences are prone to move and stucco isn't flexible. If I did go that route I'd be sure to paint the stucco including the very top to help keep moisture from seeping thru the stucco.
