Gate hardware

Installed metal double drive gate. Do I need a drop rod to secure one side or not. If so what can be installed on new concrete to hold rod in place?

Whether or not you need a drop rod depends on you. Do you want one? Having one will make the gate more "solid" by preventing the one panel from swinging. Then you can latch your other gate to the fixed/pinned one.

If you want a drop rod then you can drill a hole in the concrete for the rod to drop into.

Thanks for that. I don't really want to drill into my new drive if I didn't need to.

Drill a hole in the concrete and line it with a piece pipe level with the surface. It's the only way and the proper way to secure a double swing gate.
